The UNIVERSAL SOLVENT circulation heater

Watlow's UNIVERSAL SOLVENT Circulation Heater Operates at High Efficiency While Reducing the Risk of Solvent Contamination

St. Louis (March 24, 2004) - Watlow's new UNIVERSAL SOLVENT circulation heater operates at near 100 percent efficiency, while reducing the risk of solvent contamination. The new heater provides a safe and efficient means of heating low flash point solvents and is particularly suited to the heating of volatile silicon wafer cleaning solvents.

The UNIVERSAL SOLVENT circulation heater's 316 stainless steel passivated and electropolished solvent tube provides a contamination resistant surface, ensures compatibility with most semiconductor solvents and features seamless tubing, which assures higher reliability. The self-draining construction feature of the heater eliminates trapped materials that can contaminate processes.

To prevent contact with solvents, both the solvent tube and heating elements are cast into an aluminum construction. This indirect heating method also eliminates hot spots typically caused by poor flow or start up conditions, ensuring more accurate process temperature control.

Fewer components, and an aluminum cast, non-welded construction, also improve the heater's reliability. A secondary chilled water tube is cast into the aluminum to quickly cool castings for routine maintenance or to lower solvent temperatures below flash point. Users also have the option of insulating castings to minimize heat loss and maintain low equipment cabinet temperatures.

The UNIVERSAL SOLVENT circulation heater is also offered with either a TeflonĀ® coated or an anodized NEMA 7 rated (explosion proof) electrical enclosure. The enclosure houses electrical connections in the heater, reducing the risk of accidental combustion of solvent vapors. The heater's aluminum casting body is also coated in Teflon, protecting it from exposure to solvents.
